Radio
Ministry:
Millions
of Fulani people cannot read or write,
and many lead a nomadic lifestyle. Spoken
communication is therefore the most effective
way to introduce them the Good News of
Jesus-Christ. Our Radio Ministry broadcasts
30 minute weekly radio programmes from
strategic radios in Burkina, Benin, Niger,
Ghana and Mali, and we hope to extend
these broadcasts to other countries in
West Africa where the Fulani people live.
We hire airtime from local stations to
broadcast our programmes. The programmes
are also available on cassettes.
Our
radio programmes are in Fulani language
and usually 30 minutes long. We present
the Bible message with a mix of traditional
music, Fulani Christian songs. We also
produce some programmes of practical advice.
We are receiving good feedback from our
audiences and some listeners have decided
to follow Jesus. Fulani Ministries’ radio
programmes are transcending barriers (geographical,
religious, language ...) to reach out
to Fulanis where travelling preachers
cannot always go. The cost of producing
and broadcasting a 30 minute radio programme
is £30 or $55.
